About Jerry L. Green

Founder of Student Advocacy Network Institute and pioneer of policy-driven student safety advocacy

"This Work Chose Me"

Jerry L. Green didn’t plan to become a student advocate—he was called to it. After witnessing countless families struggle to get schools to respond to bullying, he realized the problem wasn’t just individual bad actors, but systemic failures in how schools interpret and enforce their own policies.

Through extensive research and direct advocacy work with hundreds of families, Jerry developed the Student Safety Case File™ system—a structured approach to documentation and advocacy that forces accountability through policy compliance.
Today, Jerry leads the Student Advocacy Network Institute, helping families navigate the complex world of education policy and ensuring every child’s right to a safe learning environment.

The Journey

From discovery to mission—how SAN was born
The Discovery

Jerry didn't set out to become a student advocate. His journey began when he witnessed the devastating impact of bullying on students and the systematic failures of schools to respond effectively. He realized that most parents didn't know their rights or how to navigate school policies.

The System

Through years of research and direct advocacy work, Jerry discovered that school districts have extensive policies governing student safety—but these policies are rarely explained to parents or consistently enforced. He developed a structured system for interpreting policies, documenting incidents, and forcing accountability.

The Mission

What started as helping individual families evolved into the Student Advocacy Network Institute—a comprehensive system for policy-driven student safety advocacy. Jerry's mission is to create a new category of service that sits between parents and schools, ensuring every child's right to a safe learning environment.

Jerry's Philosophy

Comprehensive tools and support throughout the entire advocacy process
Policy Over Emotion

While we understand the emotional toll of bullying, effective advocacy requires focusing on policy violations and legal requirements rather than emotional appeals.

Documentation is Power

Properly structured documentation that references specific policies creates accountability pressure schools cannot ignore.

Parents as Partners

We empower parents with knowledge and tools, making them informed advocates rather than dependent on external help alone.

Systematic Change

Every case is an opportunity to improve school systems. We don't just solve individual problems—we push for lasting policy improvements.

Credentials & Experience

Years of dedicated advocacy and proven results

"Every Child Deserves a Safe Place to Learn"

This belief drives everything we do at SAN. It’s not just about individual cases—
it’s about transforming how schools respond to student safety concerns and
creating lasting systemic change.
"I've seen too many families suffer because they didn't know their rights or how
to navigate the system. My mission is to change that—one Case File at a time."

The Book: Bullying is a Drug

Jerry’s groundbreaking book “Bullying is a Drug: Breaking the Addiction Cycle” reframes bullying using the B-U-L-L-Y-I-N-G-I-S-A- D-R-U-G framework, exploring how bullying functions like an addiction for perpetrators and creates lasting trauma for victims.

The book provides insights into the psychological and neurological impacts of bullying, while offering practical strategies for intervention, healing, and breaking the cycle.
